Colour create challenge pink and grey

I have been to Grassington today with my crafty buddies Elaine and Michelle testing out a venue for our upcoming retreat. a fantastic art studio located a spit away from the village. A few little hiccups to iron out then we should be raring to got by the 6th March. It will be fab to see our crafty buddies from far away and catch up with their current loves in the crafty sense! Anyway once we got down to crafting this was my first mission. Image high hopes, grey background paper is from the BM suet Pudding range (had to get a bit in somewhere lol) I have used a pricking template and stitched around the edge in pink then inked my edges with worn lipstick distress ink pad. Pale pink and grey card from stash but likely to be Kanban! Sentiment pink petticoat. Faux stitching added to edge of image and the circles with the sentiment. Ribbon also from stash. I have coloured the image in using promarkers. the 3 little buttons are from Papermania and I have just added grey DMC thread as an extra detail. Hope your day has been fun x Click on the colour create blinkie to find out more about this challenge.

Paper on the letters is by Kelly Paccinni, sentiment by Kanban. Brads basic grey. Different to my usual stle and influenced a little by Sassys wedding Anniversary card last week. Okay I admit it

I have new stamps - However I promise they are not blonde moments! Got some of the brand new Tim Holtz stamps. Most retailers wont get these beauties till into March but I can play now!!! With this in mind I have been playing and tried very hard to make them fit the Tag your it challenge this week of circles and swirls - i have however decided they are not good enough for that. Not sure my colours are that brill but quite like the darker one but the saying is a tad crooked so thats annoying me - anyway have a gander and see for yourself. CJ xx

A new card

commisioned by Babs at work - instructions 40th birthday female.

I have inked a piece of white card with shabby shutters and dried marigold distress ink pads applied with cut and dry foam. Over stamped with peeled paint with a blonde moment background stamp (I know you are yawning at yet another BM product but I just luv `em!) Faux stitching around the edges lime and orange ribbon from stash. Mounted onto lime green card. BM (yawn again) dotty flower embossed on to one of the spring fling papers from - yep BM. Embossed with Mango embossing powder that is just lush and sorry it is yet again a BM product! Scallop punch by BM - no only joking its stampin up I love this punch too! and sentiment by I think pink petticoat. Again inked with dried marigold. I like it hope she does too!
By the way if you are short of ranger products and would like some more pop over to www.thestampman.co.uk he has 20% his stock at the mo so buy 4 distress ink pads and get one free! free p&p over a tenner too. No connection but a happy customer :0)

More Love to share!

Made this tag on Wednesday night at the craft club I run. We got down and dirty well more inky I suppose playing with inks and sprays then making them into gorgeous tags. I am really pleased with this one. The flower is made from Grungeboard my first real go with this stuff - not the easiest of stuff to cut out either (grungepaper is the new release I want to play with!)Well the ladies seem to enjoy themselves and all went home with suitably messy fingers. According to the master (Tim Holtz) the way to remove ink is to use cheap shampoo as a handwash! I found a little help from the nailbrush didnt go amiss either! I understand a couple of ladies went to work the next day with inky fingers!!!!
Anyway back to the tag watermelon and clover are the two coloured adirondack inks applied with cut and dry foam. splatted a little with water and left a few seconds then blotted off. Lightly sprayed with a re-inker - cant remember which one but it also had copper pearl powder in it which has given a lovely speckled sheen. The love stamp is from whispers and stamped in black archival ink. The swirly one is a stamp I bought from the well known auction site - it was not expensive and I love it! The flower is dotty flower from blonde moments which Midnight Crafter Michelle has borrowed. This was my first ever stamp set and still my favourite flower. The grungeboard was covered in watermelon ink, stamped over with Black archival - heated to allow me to curl the petals and attached with a brad. I highlighted bits of the swirl stamped areas with white gel pen. I really like it!

Tag your it Love and Romance week

Well that was my entry last week too LOL but I have managed to rustle up another. Ive used a brown luggage label tag so the colours are not as good. Raspberry and pool adirondack inks, overstamped with Carnation archival ink. Stamps used blonde moments. The hearts are embossed then painted with blonde moments pearl pigment powders. These are gorgeous to work with and very versatile pop over to www.afth.co.uk and click on Dylans blog to see some great tutorials. Hope you like it.

Simple - hope you like it! Click on the colour create blinky at the right hand side of the blog to see more challenge cards from the DT.

Sum bunny loves me

Not a good pic so I apologise. This is one of a series of cards I made using this bunny stamp from High hopes - I love the image especially as they sent it as a freebie as i waited a long time for the order. The bunnies are soo cute, coloured in with promarkers. Used Ambrosia papers again and ribbon from stash. The sentiment is from blonde moments. Its a 5 and a half inch square card which opens from the bottom up if you know what I mean - there is probably a technical word for that but I am brain dead and cannot think after working every day since last wed.

It was my wedding anniversary on Valentines day awwww I hear you say. We have been married 23 years. Tim bought me a lovely card and single red rose - booked a table at a local pub and then I got a migraine! He took our daughter Meghan instead whilst i went to bed at 7-30 with migraleve. Havent had one for absolutely ages and forgot how awful they make me feel even the next day. I now have 4 days off yippee in which to chill and catch up on sleep and spend time with my fast growing up daughter. Her boyfriend (they are both 13 and although have been together since June last year have not yet kissed - Meg doesnt want to rush into anything! Bless) sent her a lovely card through the post telling her she was beautiful - she is still floating somewhere near the light fitting LOL.

Hope your valentines day was romantic Id love to hear about it!

What an Amazing Day!

Had a super day out with crafty chums. Firstly went to Stampman where Jill did a few demos for us and told us her plans for the atc raffle prize! Then on to the bacon butty van for lunch mmmmm lovely lady in there made a great butty and cup of tea - we know how to live!!!! Then on to art from the Heart to watch demos by Tim Holtz and Dyan Reavely. What a super Guy he is - everything he did was so effortless and of course amazing. he made a gorgeous tag for the atc raffle in May which was signed of course and another one for Camping Crafter which she is very proud of and is now converted to Ranger products lol.

Dyan as ever so down to earth chatted away to us all. Love her new blog look! She is making some atcs for our May Spring bank Hol meet - Fab! All tea/ coffee money and raffle money from today was going to the local Carers Resource that Dyan always supports - A lovely lady. Check out the shop and blog at www.afth.co.uk

Here is our merry band with the lovely Tim - Mum, Michelle, Elaine, Debbie, Barbara and me - not the most flattering of pics but there again we wouldnt look as good as him anyway since we had all been drooling during his demo watching him work!!!!

A sort of tag

Made this today for a special lady from the docrafts site who I am hoping to meet again on Thursday at The Tim Holtz demo. Its her birthday this month so along with the purple butterfly tag I thought I would make a little gift for her craft room.
The door hanger is a naked one from craftwork cards painted on one side with raspberry paint dabber from ranger then over stamped with the crown stamp from craft stamper a few months ago. The painted side also has the words Georgy girl paper party. The front has paperartsy bricks and mortar stamped images coloured with promarkers. The hanger its self on this side is covered with some blonde moments minasie moo papers. this is also over stamped with raspberry adirondack ink and all edges inked with this too.
A quick lesson on beading from Michelle there is a little bead accent and ribbons from stash. Hope she likes it!

Colour create challenge week 2

And what a challenge this was - 2 colours I would never have put together! Click on the colour create icon to read all about it! I hunted through my stash (and my mums) for inspiration then sat and looked at the stuff i had collected Hmmmm.
This image is from Stampin up and is my mums stamp coloured in using mums whispers pens - she was working with it herself yesterday which is why I noticed it. The base card is cream with an aqua card mat. The stripey paper is from the papermaina colossal pack from years ago finished off with the stampin up scallop border punch. The sentiment is from DCWV, the flowers punched from basic grey paper - think its from the blush range - ribbons and buttons from stash. Still not convinced I would go for the combo again but its another card for filling the birthday books below!
Have a great day and thanks for looking x

Finally

Got round to finishing the birthday books. I had to wait for some 1" binding rings before they could be bound and finished off and I am rather pleased with the results. I followed the instructions in the December Craft Stamper mag and just put my own twist on it. For the ones above I have used Blonde Moments Minasie Moo papers, Blonde moments stamps and a swirly stamp i got from ebay. The tags inside are using a paperartsy notes stamp and some studio G months of the year stamps. Inking and stamping done with dusty concord distress ink and the black is Ranger archival ink pad. The monogram letter on the front is a basic grey chipboard one Ive used as a template. Then all bound together with my new bind it all!All ribbon is from my stash so is a mixture of makes.
The Pics below are the same book and pattern but Ive used blonde moments spring fling papers. Ive also used all blonde moments stamps inside and also blonde moments embossing powder Mango - a fab colour! Ive used the distress ink pads shabby shutters and dried marigold. Apart from the stamp from ebay and the studio g months set the rest can be purchased at www.afth.co.uk.
These are both birthday gifts so i will fill them with cards. Thanks for looking x

Been working on the tag challenge and although ive followed the plan somehow its ended up purple too (last weeks theme)LOL Thats because I wanted to do last weeks challenge and missed the deadline (the purple tag below was the entry for that!) Anyway heres my offering. Adirondack inked background - eggplant and raspberry, papers from kanban (thanks Elaine)dovecraft mini stamps, ribbon kanban and fibres blonde moments, brads K&Co. Hope this looks ok as its my first attempt at this challenge!

Braks

Was busy making Braks - birthday random acts of kindness - yesterday for pals on the docrafts site. The cat stamp is from pink gem designs, sentiment from stampin up coloured with a mix of distress inks and promarkers. Brads are from basic grey. The purple tag is almost atc size and is for a lovely cheeky lady from the docrafts site who I have met several times. Hope we are meeting up on Thursday next week to meet the fabulous Tim Holtz! inked background then over stamped with blondemoments time flies, Butterfly stamped onto blonde moments paper button and brad recycled from a birthday card and ribbon from stash.

Had crafty pals round yesterday to play so we had a laugh, giggle and lots of chatter. These days so help what did I do before I found me crafty mates? watched too much TV - which I hardly do at all these days.
Thanks for stopping by x and for your encouraging comments x

Technology!

Sorry for lack of posting our computer gave up last Friday so I am only able to access mums so cannot upload pics. Hopefully we will be back up and running by the weekend.
Had a super day with Elaine and Michelle and another lady (sorry cant remember your name!) at Embsay crafts. A card making club which elaine is co-ordinating. I managed to do 48 wedding invites for a colleague only another 52 to go! Will upload a pic when I can - they are very simple but that was the brief and after 4/5 prototypes this is the one they chose. I quite enjoyed doing them!
Hope all is well with you
