My Last post before Christmas

Hi All
This is my version of one of Tims tags from this year. I just loved the idea of making my own tarten with alcohol inks - its sooo cool although hard to make the lines straight! The warm winter wishes stamp is from see ds - I love the sentiment as it encompasses everyone - even those who dont celebrate Christmas - So this is my Tag for you all. Warm Winter Wishes to all who visit me and who I visit too xx

Let it Snow!

This is my Tuesday Taggers project for this week. Today I am going crafting for the last time this year with my good pals at the local shop. We are having a Jacobs Join lunch and finishing off any of our outstanding projects for this year.

I have made some shortbread snowflakes for my contribution. Made with the recipe from the good old BeRo book!

The tin is one my brother bought me from Fortnam and Masons in London. A rare time he has bought me a gift just from him without any prior planning. he told me he saw the tin and thought of me :0) Not that I am red and covered in snowflakes but the tin plays Jingle Bells and he knows I love Christmas. I have had it out every year since but as i have made shortbread snowflakes it seemed the perfect tin to take them in so I have also covered up the label with some card with snowflake brads and a handmade at Christmas stamped and embossed.
I am quite pleased with it and also for the memory of my brother buying it for me.

Hope you like it

Its official I am unbalanced!

Today I went to BRI for the final vestibular testing the specialist referred me for. The findings are the balance organ in my right ear (the one with deafness and tinnitus) is not working and the one in my left ear is not working very well. That means when my brain gets confused and listens to the balance organ I fall over or get the vertigo symptoms.

Great I first think - at least we know whats happening now -but after thinking more about it what comes next? Ive never heard of a balance organ transplant??? Ive been searching the net tonight for clues - at the worst Im stuffed and at the best I may be able to retrain my brain to ignore the faulty messages. So anyone out there with any experience of this Id love to hear from you. For now I await the appointment to see the specialist again to hear what they think should happen.

Hope to craft a little tomorrow - need to make a new home card so I may have something to show you after all. Hope your week is going well and your Christmas preparations are coming along nicely x Janet

Jolly old St Nick! Tuesday Taggers

I watched a brilliant programme last week presented by Fiona Phiilips Christmas Tales - The Legend of Santa - I missed the first 15 minutes of it but really enjoyed seeing how different Countries have taken up this legend and made it their own. From how he got his Red Suit to how he has grown from a tiny elfen man to the Huge jolly character he is today - Brilliant stuff - You can watch it on the internet on ITV player if you fancy it!

Anyway here is my Tuesday Taggers project for this week.

Papers are by Stampin Up - Image is from a Tim Holtz Stampers anonymous set - I always think this one looks older than the others. Ive used distress inks and pearl powders to colour him and also a touch of promarkers here and there. I love this ticket sentiment by Magnolia and can see me using it lots in years to come!

Keep an eye out on Jill at The Stampmans blog over the next couple of weeks Jill has some fabulous giveaways and prizes lined up!

Have a brilliant day!

Another pressie

This is for a colleague at work Jacci - she is responsible for introducing me to papercrafting 5 years ago and buys me the most lavish gifts. Last year I got a bind it all with lots of accessories! Now I just cannot compete with that so this year have made gifts for her and this is one of them. The bag pattern is by Amy Butler and was the most expensive bit of the bag! The material I bought from the local fent shop for a fiver. I did however spend the best part of Thursday with Midnight crafter making the bag. We both made one and are really pleased with the results - i will def make another. The only thing I dont like is that I have used stiffener between the layers - I bought the best stuff (cost nearly as much as the material)but its a bit too stiff for my liking! Still I hope she likes it - she loves bags and has lots of them. Im safe to post on here as she has no internet access at home so could only look at work and seeing as the CC deem this a social networking site it cannot be accessed!
Have got a busy two weeks up to Christmas at work so I apologize in advance for my absence of blogging - there will of couse be my TT entries but possibly very little else! Have fun folks x Janet

Blog hop digi winner

Thanks to everyone who played along with the blog hop on Sunday we had lots of fun! The winner has been picked by the random generator and is
ILDIKO

Congratulations I will email you

Janet

Oh Christmas Tree

As usual Ive used some of my fav products - blonde moments! This time in colours that are not Christmassy. The background is raspberry and pool adirondack inks applied with cut and dry then over stamped with teal archival with a paperartsy stamp (thanks Dy for introducing this one to me!)Then the blonde moments trees are embossed onto white card then painted with pearl pigments powders. Yum!
This is winging its way to one of my very special friends with this verse I found on the net last year.
"There is a list of folks I know
all written in a book
and every year at Christmas time
I go and take a look.
This is when I realise
those names are all a part
Not of the book they are written in
but deep within my heart.
For each name stands for someone
who has touched my life sometime
and in that meeting they have become
a special friend of mine.
I feel that I am composed
of each remembered name
and my life is so much better
than it was before they came.
Once you have known that "someone"
all the years cannot erase.
The memory of a pleasant word
or of a friendly face.
So never think my Christmas cards
are just a mere routine
of names upon a list
that are forgotten in between.
For when I send this Christmas card
that is addressed to you.
It is because you're on the list of folks
that I'm indebted to.
and whether I have known you
for many years or a few
the greatest gift that God can give
is having friends like you x"

Although I am sending this verse to a special someone - it really stands for each person I am proud to call a friend - this tree card has made me feel nostalgic and filled with love for all my family and friends - so hope you can feel the love today xxx
If anyone knows where this is on the net i would gladly add a link to the web page

hop back here at 9pm tonight to find out if you have won the Rudolph digi stamp x

I really dont know how Bee finds such treasures but this was her challenge to us last weekend. To decorate this empty bauble which separates so you can add inside too. Phew!

Just been to see New Moon with my daughter Meghan - Loved it! The whole romance is captivating and weirdly beautiful. Never thought id be interested in anything remotely close to Vampires but hey Im a huge convert. Having read all but book 3 I knew what was coming but it didnt stop the whole film being brilliant - so glad I went and didnt wait for it to come out on DVD.
Are you a Twilight Lover???

Tuesday Taggers Christmas Carols

Well here we are the 1st December and on the countdown to Christmas. Although many crafters start Christmas early there is something magical about December and the excitement it brings - don't you think?
So our theme for this week is Christmas Carols - although some of my teamies have gone for The Christmas Carol approach by Charles Dickens - isn't that a fabby slant on the theme?
Well mine is definitely along the carol theme. I just had to use my Stampers Anonymous stamps for this one with that fabulous Christmas Carol stamp.

Ive used 5 x 4 inch mountboard and used the white side to stamp and colour. Ive used promarkers to colour in then the distress inks for the main colour.

On Saturday night I thought I had over done the above piece as when I over stamped the music background the Christmas carol bit got lost however I highlighted areas with Glossy accents - went to bed and got up to it looking like this phew!

The berries have been highlighted using stickles then the whole piece spritzed with my fav re-inkers and mica powder spray - this time with festive candy (blonde moments pearl pigments) and fired brick re-inker - lush!

I have used some gold spilt rings to hang it together and added red, gold and green organza ribbon to complete the hanger Ive added some craft wire which Ive curled around a pen.

Hop on over to Tuesday Taggers and check out everyone elses entries to the DT.
Watch out for the blog hop on the 6th December too with some fabulous prizes to be won!

On another note I got my craft stamper on friday and was so pleased to see someone I know with a fab project in it p 74-76.
Congratulations Debbie a stunning project - to see more of Debbies stunning work visit her blog Debbie Dolphin - make yourself a cuppa and go back through her archives - you wont be diappointed!
hope this has scheduled properly as i'm at work again and wont be home till nearly 6pm. Have a fabby day now the Christmas countdown has begun!
