No pics to share Im afraid as all I managed was Christmassy on Tuesday. You can see it here though.
Saw the specialist on Tuesday and was told I now have menieres disease in the other ear which was a huge surprise to me. This means I will, as the disease progresses, go totally deaf. I will be fitted with 2 hearing aids in the next 6 weeks or so. This was certainly not what I wanted to hear. I'm still adjusting to the news as it has really floored me. I had hoped I would be one of the many who only get it in one ear. Hopefully though the hearing aids will help even with the vertigo attacks so I am trying to hang onto to that as a positive. Bear with me whilst I adjust to this - I hope not to feel so gloomy next time I post x

ReplyDeleteOh Janet, so sorry to hear this. Like others have said you're such a lovely, warm and caring person you really don't deserve this. Sending you lots of love and hugs - keep your chin up love. Jo xx
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, I've just read your post and my heart goes out to you, as Georgina has said you will still be the Janet we all love, but you have got a lot of adjusting to do, and will want to kick and scream at the horrible hand you have been dealt. That is natural and we, your friends will be there for you when you want to have a rant, or a shoulder to cry on. Please don't isolate yourself and try to deal with this alone, WE ARE THERE FOR YOU. and thank goodness for the internet, e-mails, texts and bloggs, they don't rely on using your ears to keep in touch like telephones do, hopefully your hearing aides will make a difference for you, and it will be great if they help deal with the vertigo as well, Kate and I will keep you in our thoughts.
